Description
Sand between my toes by Karen Cook - A Dunlin, a member of the Sandpiper family, stops to shake the sand out from between those long toes on the shores of Mavillette Beach on Nova Scotia's southwestern shores. The Dunlin, easily recognized by that drooping beak breeds in the high Arctic in summer and migrates south for the winter. Such an elegant looking bird, the same color as the warm sands of the beach
