My father owns the same truck its the same color and everything and it originally sat in grandfather's garage with a gravel driveway until we pulled it out and rescued it and this photo reminds me of that day cause the garage even looks the same too. I will eventually hang it on my wall im remodeling my living room and ima hang it on my wall when it's done to pay respect to my father who bought me my first home and someday he's leaving this truck to me to carry on its legacy.

Sandstone Bluff of El Malpais by Debra Martz

El Malpais National Monument is located near Grants, New Mexico. Its name, El Malpais, translates to badlands in Spanish. It was not so much the bluffs that the Spanish explorers of 1540 named the part of New Mexico but more for the lava flows surrounding the area. There were informational signs warning of the rugged terrain below and while hiking was allowed you were made aware that every year there are search and rescue teams sent to look for lost hikers. With that, I decided to stick to the upper region of the bluffs and heeded the warning of watching for steep drop-offs! Along the top of the bluffs were a number of potholes, tinajas, varying in color from gray to yellow-green. The potholes fill with water after rainfall and create temporary miniature ecosystems and more than likely supplied water for people.
