This is great!

This is exciting work, do you use float glass?

Yes! I use recycled Float Glass abs rainforest remnants from a clear felling coop just uo the road. The rainforest is gone now forever and it is replaced by a monoculture plantation for Japanese newspapers. The grey and clear glass was collected at a dump when I was living in my car working on my Masters Degree in Tasmania.

Just love my picture. After I framed it, I now have it hanging in my Florida Room with a piece of driftwood I got at Nags Head. Looks great. Makes me feel like I'm at the beach when I look at it.

The colors were accurate on this piece. Saw others that were brighter than the original Audubon. Printed on quality art paper.

I purchased this quality print to replace a print I purchased at the Art Institute of Chicago. It is beautiful and exactly what I hoped for.

Had to have this photo! It brings back such wonderful memories of growing up in Iowa!

Artist's Description

Mayflies live in Rainforest areas where there are rushing waterfalls and melting snow. Alpine areas are fragile places when the rain doesnt come. Global warming is causing changes to these environments where the velvet worm also lives in these watery waterfall areas. The biodiversity of these areas have not changed much since Gondwanaland existed 65 million years ago and every day there is a unique discovery as well as now, the last two hundred years, we have lost species we may never of known about. I try to show the beauty of such a small creature hoping to give a perspective on their right to exist. It is not a whole world when we continue to wipe out every thing we dont understand

I also have my paintings and photographs on Sarah King painting, artist sight. http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sarah-king.htm I hope to earn enough money to buy a glass kiln so I can continue my glass collection of the Gondwanaland species. I live in isolation near the mountains of Tasmania, cut my wood so I can heat my water and cook. I work in my studio at home. I am a multi-skilled artist often working with recycled and found materials. I live near Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, Australia, the little Island south of the eastern coast of Australia. I am inspired by the wonderful unique Gondwanaland Rainforest...
