important image; hope it does not melt....

Hi Joe. You are so right. But, since we started going into this area in the 70's the receding of the glaciers has been very noticeable. The Columbia Glacier which is part of the same set of icefields, has a walk up to it from the parking lot. There are markers showing where the toe of the glacier was during different years. The shrinkage in the past few years has been tremendous and very sad to see.
