Description
Oh, I know
That the music's fine
Like sparkling wine
Go and have your fun
Laugh and sing
But while we're apart
Don't give your heart to anyone
But don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin', save the last dance for me,
Baby, don't you know
I love you so
Can't you feel it when we touch
I will never, never let you go
I love you oh, so much
You can dance
Go and carry on
'Til the night is gone
And it's time to go
If he asks if you're all alone
Can he take you home you must tell him no
'Cause don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arm's you're gonna be
So, darlin', save the last dance for me
This couple are my wife's parents on the night of the celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. I can feel the power of their love for one another in this photo. I hope that it shines into your life as well.

Just lovely, and I'm glad you left the background. The eye is of course first drawn to the couple, but then you look around and see that they are not alone, and it makes the picture even more endearing.
William Fields replied:
Thanks Mary. I appreciate you're comments. You should meet them. They are still deeply in love after 50 years of marriage. My heroes.

this is a beautifully captured moment ... too lovely to be competing with the background.
William Fields replied:
Thanks Maureen. Thank you for your kindness and thanks for the suggestion. I just noticed that you're from Malibu. I lived in L.A. for 13 years.

Beautiful shot of the couple - only thing I would do is change the background, which is distracting - maybe a plain dark backdrop would put all the attention on the lovely couple.
William Fields replied:
Peter, thanks very much. I did consider dropping out the background initially. My decision to retain it? I feel it gives context to the moment. Even though they are completely involved in each other, they are in a hall and there are other people dancing, talking, drinking, joking and so on. It's akin to leaving the power lines in a landscape. I sometimes do that as well. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestion. I appreciate the feedback and I often will change a piece based on the reaction from others. In this case, I'm happy with the picture.
