This is fantastic art sister is an oil painter and she has told me that people are the hardest subject to paint...this is so realistic...just amazing! fave! Voted!

Thank you, Susan! I used a photo as reference for this piece, but I have learned that the camera is the great liar. The values are often wrong, there can be a lot of distortion, and the color is usually off. I have been blessed to travel to the severals seas, and the color amazes me. I think I have it locked into my memory now. I know the young woman in this photo well, so I was able to compensate for the poor values in the photo. Painting is soooo mental, isn't it?
