Along the coast of Sicily in Scopello, an ancient set of buildings rest in disuse, after being a tuna processing plant for centuries. Needles of rock rise from the ocean floor, adding their accent to the rugged coastline. My friend and longtime collector bought this work for an entirely different reason. She says she sees heart-shaped patterns all through the work. Her vineyard has heart-shaped rocks in it's soil, and she felt some kind of a connection. She sees more hearts in it than I do, but I am so glad she enjoys it!
