Artist's Description
The Scotch Bonnet is common to the South Florida beaches. Another population is found on the North Carolina shores and has been named the helmets, and like the latter, feed primarily on sea urchins. Similar species are found along the West Soast of Africa and Panama's Pacific Coast, supporting the theory of a continuous population once linked by closer continents and a disconnected South American land mass. This print is usually paired with the color print which can also be found in this gallery.
