The slot canyons of Northern Arizona and southern Utah are spectacular creations of wind and water erosion. The sculpted curves and lines, when lit by direct overhead light, have drawn landscape photographers to them for decades.
You need to be careful in these canyons though. Rainstorms miles away can send torrents of rushing water through these canyons that can be deadly to people exploring them as a group of French tourists discovered several years ago when all of them were killed by a flash flood through Antelope Canyon.
