Description
Brain. Sagittal slice through a human brain. The front of the brain is at left. The much folded cerebrum (at top) makes up the larger part of the brain. Intelligent thought processes, memory and conscious movement are processed in the cerebrum. At lower centre is the elongated brainstem which controls involuntary reflexes such as breathing and eye reflexes. The brainstem connects with the spinal cord. To the right of the brainstem is the cerebellum which is involved in body posture, balance and coordination of movement.
