Description
Sedona Series - Through The Window - from Sepia Toned series, by award-winning artists Ben and Raisa Gertsberg, aka BRG, who collaborate under the name It's a Beautiful World!
We found these interesting architectural details in the charming Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village in the city of Sedona, Arizona. The village features traditional Mexican architecture, has an authentic look and feel of the Southwest and is a Sedona historic landmark.
Enjoy the view through the fenced window to see trees outside framed by the window. Tiled walls, old stucco and weathered wood of the the adobe building create a symphony of textures and patterns to enjoy. In this artwork we used sepia tones to give it a nostalgic feel and vintage look. The piece also features geometric abstract composition created by lines, curves and shapes of the structure.

There's a lot to enjoy here given the wallpaper pattern, the lacy foliage outside, the narrow verticals of the bars, and the arched shape of the deep window frame, but the sepia tones bring everything together and simplify the composition beautifully. This is one of my two Picks of the Day in the Best of Minimalism in Photography group for September 18.
