I love the lines and shapes here as well as the light and tones. Very cool image that caught my attention immediately in the Hats thread.

Brian Wallace replied:

Thank you very much Nikolyn, for the nice comment and fave on my painting. I really appreciate it!

Thank you Marie-Claire. I did this painting many years ago from a black and white picture in the Sunday news magazine. Since my source was grayscale, I painted the assusmed colors. I believe the magazine picture depicted an even earlier time period in history although I don't recall now if I even read it. I was just interested in source material for things I wanted to try to draw and paint at the time.

Nice movement in your painting and fun hats!

Simply a beautiful pillow. Everyone who comes into my office comments on how attractive it is. Also very well made! Would order this again for me, or as a gift. Thank you.

Artist's Description

2D image of a painting of two men sawing a tree in the woods. The title implies a hidden puzzle... the saw can not be seen because it is of the same exact contour as the background horizon.

About Brian Wallace

Brian Wallace

I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau.
