1925 self-portrait by Polish-born American artist Tamara de Lempicka, showing herself looking cool and deadly at the wheel of her green Bugatti. Queen of art deco, and an original 'wild child', de Lempicka took everything life had to offer and ran with it. Her many affairs took in both men and women, but in paint her subjects were predominantly female, stylised, almost sculptural and, like herself, beautiful but rather dangerous-looking. She ended her days in style, south of the border, down Mexico way. Perfect material for a biopic. Amazing no one's done it yet.
