Description
Found exclusively in Utah, Honeycomb calcite is a beautiful golden-yellow form of a common carbonate mineral.
Sulfur, present during formation, adds yellow to an otherwise near-colorless stone. The patterns formed by long tubular cells outlined by the white membranes of crystals form the iconic "honeycomb" look.
Honeycomb calcite is treasured by collectors because of its unique appearance, rich color and because it holds its color better than many other colored calcites. This piece was mined in Hanna, Duchesne County, Utah and travels to various museums within temporary displays.
Spiritualists say it can be used to release blockages to creativity. Simply placing a piece in a room can clear stagnant and negative energies, as well as heighten your creative energy.
