Description
DAY 75. Lisa’s 100 Day Painting Challenge.
The inspiration underlying this original colour pencil painting of my husband and Pom’s morning “gift” of wild lawn violets quickly morphed into a greater surreal “story” in Laurelland. I was filling the miniature belleekware pitcher with several drops of water for my flowers and was filled with gratitude for having been born in the month of April. I was told my mother went into the hospital in an early New England Spring snowstorm; upon discharge one week later, the trees were leafing and blooming. The violets took a design element turn to showcase the dual “personality” of April...snowfall one moment, sun-rain filled days the next. A touch of silver micron gelpen added the ethereal snowflakes and overnight raindrops. Sunshine remains an ever present buffer between both!
