Description
Long ago women would gather at different cycles of the moon. They would gather in kitchens and by fireplaces and under the dark of the moon. Carrying their babies on their hips and burdens on their back, they would come to share their stories.
They would come to bear witness to one another's lives and to fan the flames of hope that kept them alive. They would weep with one another's sorrows and disappointments and cheer for their joys and blessings. They would whisper to one another of unspoken dreams and nightmares.
This painting reflects the power of women's sharing these shadow parts of our lives, bearing witness to our transformation, healing and greatness.
