Historic Shea's Buffalo Theater, in Buffalo, New York. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the theater was built in 1925 by theatre entrepreneur Michael Shea as a movie palace and vaudeville stage with over 3,200 seats. The molded plasterwork of the walls and vaulted ceiling were patterned after the great opera houses in Europe. Antique furnishings were designed by Marshall Field (Chicago) and Tiffany Studios (NYC). A giant Wurlitzer organ was also installed. Traveling vaudeville shows would often debut in New York City and subsequently stop and perform in Buffalo before continuing to Chicago.
Phil Pantano Phil Pantano is a photographer from Buffalo, New York. Being surrounded by massive, industrial manufacturing facilities while growing up in the Rust Belt left an impression on him. A history buff, he now works to capture what's left of those once majestic buildings and create unique works of art for others to enjoy. A Phil Pantano photograph is like a vault being exposed after 50 years of abandonment ready to open its eyes and embrace the world once again. Starting in film in the 1960s at the age of 12 with his first camera, he now shoots digital, complimented with his creative editing style. An award-winning photographer, Phil Pantano's work has been sold worldwide and published in some of the finest magazines.
