This is the second image in my "Painting with Depth of Field" series.
Like with the first one, I started out by designing a set of interlocked shells out of metal wire and when I got to render the image ( I use SideFX "Houdini" as 3D software and "Redshift" for rendering) I set a very high depth of field value for the virtual camera. The result is a totally different image from the original shells, where one can hardly see tiny bits of the original wires since the focus is so shallow.
This created a somehow "otherworldly" image with beautiful details, lights and structures that aren't there in the original object, but are a result of the extreme depth of field. No post effects were used,
only colour correction.
The image is rendered in very high resolution (10,000 x 10,000 px) for best print results.
To really see all the details, I recommend larger print sizes for this one.
