Although this shot was made on January 2, 2011 on Galveston Beach, Texas, and the weather was chilly (for Texas) it felt good to be on the beach.

I am a retired University lecturer, and I have been an avid photographer for some 50 years. My wife and I love to travel. We like to see the US and we have had some wonderful journeys over the past 20 years. We went to Peru and Ecuador where we saw and photographed the plains of Nazca, Machu Picchu, a bit of the Amazon rainforest, and of course, The Galapagos. Less than a year later we spent two weeks driving around England (her birthplace.) In 2012, we traveled to France. We began in Nice on The Cote d'Azur.
