Description
This marble cliff on the south shore of Singleton Lake is really a landmark. I played with the meaning of "landmark" - an object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location. Since it is a lake, I thought that "watermark" was more appropriate even though that term is defined as - a faint design made in some paper during manufacture, which is visible when held against the light and typically identifies the maker.
The slope is steep and high. The changing water levels have edged their history on the steep slope. The water levels go up and down annually by up to six feet. I really wonder whether the "powers who be" really know what they are doing with the water levels. Apparently the ones who did know what they were doing have all retired and the result was the flood of the spring of 2014. It could also be the requirement to make hydro power and the ongoing demands of society for a flowing current of both electricity and water. I really don't know for sure why, but the water was really low.

Thank you so much Christine. The paint is actually on quite thick. The panel has little or no tooth. Fun :>))
