Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Perfect gift for my college niece!!! They love to have their towels for spring break! Highly recommend. I recently bought round beach towels at a major retailer. The quality from fineartamerica far surpasses it! The artwork on the towel is vibrant and attractive. Love it!

Artist's Description

The winds were light and the sun was bright. I decided to head out after minus twenty-something temperatures had kept me in the studio. Indeed the temperatures were a balmy minus 8 Celsius. A raccoon had left tracks in the snow before they had frozen into hard ice. There were a multitude of colours to be seen in this scene and I feel that this is the strong point behind plein air painting. There is nothing between you and your interpretation of the colours that you see. Colours make the scene and not the details. The ice was rumbling like a pod of great blue whales having a long conversation. I am pretty sure there are no whales in Singleton Lake. A raven kept a close eye on me - but the three or four croaks of warning gradually changed to single caws of normal conversation. I guess the ravens had decided that I was harmless a...

About Phil Chadwick

Phil Chadwick

Trained at Queens University as a nuclear physicist, Phil the Forecaster has been a professional meteorologist since 1976. Painting has however been his passion forever. For ten years, he studied under the late Mario Airomi, a famous Italian artist. Phil paints what he knows best: weather, nature, canoes and his family. There are not enough hours in the day to record the inspiration that abounds. Phil paints mainly en plein air striving for impressionistic realism. Something intangible and sometimes magical enters the art when one is actually out in the elements surrounded by inspiration. Bold colours and shapes can be found in the natural world if you only look. Phils art hangs in many private and corporate collections around the...
