FANTASTIC! My dad was a maintainer on F-105's in the early 1960s, and wore the blue "Thunderchief" patch on his fatigues. This was a birthday present for him, and the smile when he pulled it out of the box said I'd struck gold.

Artist's Description

The sinuous sensual nature of dunes. First place : How I Use Light to Create Art contest 9-3-14 Tied for 1st place - Desert Landscape Photography Contest 07-29-14 Mesquite Flat Dunes These dunes are the best known and easiest to visit in the national park. Located in central Death Valley near Stovepipe Wells, access is from Hwy. 190 or from the unpaved Sand Dunes Road. Although the highest dune rises only about 100 feet, the dunes actually cover a vast area. This dune field includes three types of dunes: crescent, linear, and star shaped. Polygon-cracked clay of an ancient lakebed forms the floor. Mesquite trees have created large hummocks that provide stable habitats for wildlife.

Life, family and a career intervened, and then...there was digital. Liberation! At this point in my life, photography is the creative medium that allows me to share personal moments and adventures. In some sense, I feel it conveys who I am, and soothes the darker moments ......
