VERY 3D Ken - you my friend do so much with less - Excellent painting!

Wow - love this

exquisite 'Skeleton Key', Ken - well done. I picked up some of the 18th century pigments while I was in the US for the holidays - hoping to upload a painting very soon - will keep you informed.

This is very nice. Nice foreshortening, with the rear handle of the key lighter in value and blurred slightly, simulating its greater distance. Lots of interest in this piece, with the haphazard, splotchy but lightly toned background, and the nice texture and imprint of the paper showing through.

Hello Ken, Of course I love all of your detailed artwork...and this is my husband's favorite. Thank you for your kind words of my grandpa painting, is my first portrait and haven't got the nerve to do another one. In this one God was guiding my hand. Thank you Ken. Ofelia

Artist's Description

I have always been intrigued by old skeleton keys and passage locks. This one I painted from a public domain photo on Image After. It was painted using 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# paper.
