Description
Smoky skies, which are the result of forest wildfires burning, create a stunning ethereal landscape as the sun rises. While the smoky conditions create havoc with health, ruin some vacations, and obscure many photography shoots, they also create moments like this. This panoramic photograph in a 2:1 dimension format was shot over Kootenay Lake, British Columbia in August 2017.

I love it when a photo looks so much better than a painting of the same subject, and this does that for me. I can't image a painting capturing this serenity and magic. Bravo!

A beautiful capture and unfortunately this is reflective of the entire Pacific NW this August . . . a beautiful photograph but under the wrong conditions . . .
Joy McAdams replied:
Thank you David. This seems to be norm for the last half of the summer. I have so many smoky images with sun sitting in my computer that I have simply quit taking them.

Nice color, probably the only good thing about smoke
Joy McAdams replied:
Thank you Mike; although it has provided some neat shots and some personal recognition/sales through those shots, I will be happy to see it go.
