What a phantastic picture! This turns back the hands of time, I love it. The minute detail on the aircraft is amazing and the smoke trail reminds me of the days flying the F4B. The people who framed it for me and my friends who have been lucky enough to see it all agree with me, of course. OOOORAH!

This is big snowflake of fernlike dendrite type, around 6 or 7 millimeters from tip to tip. I like it's complex, ornate shape and small details, like that icy "petals" or "leaves". This crystal was captured January 2013 on horizontal glass plate with LED back lighting, as quick series of 8 identical RAW shots. All source photos was averaged to raise signal-to-noise ratio of this picture; then i start my usual processing workflow. This is dark version done with special post-processing. You can find bright version of this snow crystal in galleries "All snowflakes" and "Dark snowflakes".
