This is a beautiful painting! The artist knows my husband and we were so excited to bring one of her pieces of art into our home! It's beyond what we expected! It is part of the background when I do virtual meetings (which I am in all day long) and I get so many compliments on how beautiful my "virtual backdrop is". When I tell people that it's my actual office, they always comment on the art!

Love this painting and so many compliments as it's in a treatment room where my husband is a Chiropractor. His patients love it!

The Lion And Lamb painting is absolutely beautiful and very anointed. It speaks such peace to me. We have been furnishing a missionary apartment and as soon as I saw this picture I knew it was the one! I know it will minister to each missionary that stays in our apartment just like it ministers to me.

She is very like my sweet Emma and I bought it in memory of her. Emma's room is now my office but the painting makes clear that it is still, first and foremost, kitty space. This piece comforts my heart every day. Emma has been gone for a year and I miss her incredibly.
Artist's Description
This scene is one that locals pass by almost every day, yet few would notice it in my painting. I happened upon this area on the Prairie River in my hometown as I walked over the bridge behind our library. The movement of the dark water, with its beautifully repetitive patterns set against the stark whiteness of the snow and ice, seemed to be a perfect backdrop for one of my eagles. If one studies the painting for a while, a somewhat abstract repeating shape of the eagle appears. Look again. The lower left bank of snow mimics the lower left edge of the eagles wing. The dead, fallen and snow covered tree mimics the shape of the back and right wing. The icy outcrop and rocks in the water surround the eagles head to complete this imaginary, abstract eagle. I wonder how it got there as it wasnt planned; although I played it up as I began to see it take form. Many of my paintings seem to develop with a life of their own, and I just let them lead me around. Th...
About Mark Mittlesteadt
What is an artist? While labels are defining and can be helpful, they are also limiting. I prefer to think in terms of limitless possibilities. I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a child. My mother was an artist. A very talented woman that would put us to bed and then take out her art supplies and paint well into the night. She created many works of art and traveled around the art show circuit selling her paintings. Her influence on me was inspiring. When I was older I realized I always had a desire to create things since a very young age. I liked to take things apart just to see how they were made and try to find a better way to build them. In high school I took mechanical engineering classes and found that my talents were...
