I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its
home to many native flower, shrubs, plants, and trees.
While visiting the Hopi Viewpoint off Hermits Rest Drive (far West access of the Grand Canyon), I came across many native flowers and shrubs. This one especially caught my eye. The Apache Plume. It is practical as well as pretty. The Native people were a practical people, using parts of this plant with medicinal and other various uses.
The flowers petals were no more as seen in my "A Feather In Your Cap" image, except this "Solitary Survivor!" The flower is soft, white rose-like, filled with many thready stamens and pistils. After the petals fall away, many feathery plumes are left. I am fascinated by parts of the plants that go unnoticed. I was drawn to those feathery plumes not realizing, that is was a flowering bush, if not for this one bloom. I did a black and white selective coloring, to really highlight the various par...

I didn’t want to get super close because I wanted to capture the solitariness, all by myself feel. With These images I had you in mind when photographing them. Our days together of actually photographing you in action taking notice of the unnoticed. You are so right about the not noticing. I mean at Grand Canyon throngs of people would walk not even noticing the Canyon beauty through the trees, only at large view points, that are super crowded with people. How much more so would they not notice this solitary flower, or the wonderfully feathery plumes. Big hugs back and smooches! 💕💕💕Janet
