Description
July 23, 2013, en plein air painting #10, This painting took two days to complete on location. Day one was rained out and made it necessary to return. The small 8"x10" canvas took me about 6-8 hours total to do. The black biting flies
were horrid! I ended up wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt to try to keep them from biting me. Over all though, it was still a fun experience so I plan on doing more of this type painting. I love the mountains the most.
The location is along South Mineral Creek looking down stream toward Silverton, CO at approximately 9,400+ feet elevation.

Roena, am admiring your plein air paintings. This is quite lovely, so true your description, but well worth it. f/v

I SO admire plein air painters. For the reasons you give (and more!) that make it challenging, I prefer to hike, take photos, then paint in the comfort of my studio! This painting is a beauty, from a fellow lover of mountains!! L
