Thank you William. This is just a part of the much larger cathedral. It's strange how, herein the UK & much of Europe I suppose, we are used to these really old churches, cathedrals and castles. I think because we have such very old buildings in most towns and villages and see them everyday many people take them for granted. This is a shame as people don't really look at them as closely and appreciate them as much as perhaps we should considering what amazing feats of building & architecture they were considering the primitive technologies available! :)

I cannot even imagine seeing something so impressive and ancient. This image makes me swoon and long to see what you have shown us. L/F

The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Artist's Description

The impressive south Tower of Exeter Cathedral in Devon. The cathedral, founded in 1133 and completed by 1400 is one of the finest examples of gothic architecture. The 180 ft (55m) tower dates from Norman times and was built between 1114 and 1133 and contains the second heaviest peal of 14 bells hung in the world.

About Richard Brookes

I'm fortunate to live in beautiful rolling countryside on the border of north Devon & Cornwall near to some of the most breathtaking coastline anywhere. The stunning natural beauty of the area, which changes with the light, seasons and coastal climate, is constantly inspiring. There is so much history here too with human occupation spanning millennia. A photographer's dream. Consequently many of my images are from this area! Most images I take are unplanned so that I take what I see that inspires me whilst exploring. I particularly enjoy sharing images I have taken whilst exploring less accessible or less well known locations. Sometimes I will experiment with unusual angles or viewpoints, occasionally digital manipulation. Many...
