I could clearly see the "Do not feed the alligators" sign as I waded out through the saw grass to get an unobstructed view of these trees. I figured that the 30 degree air temperature would keep me from violating that law in order to get this shot. While the water was cold, it is far better than dealing with the inhabitants of this lake face to face......
This scene could be anywhere in the deep South and is really about southern roots. Scenes like this play out from Coastal Carolina through Georgia and Florida then wrap along the Gulf Coast through Alabama,Mississippi,Louisiana and into East Texas. There is true beauty in a southern cypress swamp.
