Artist's Description

This was taken at Arlington Field in Arlington, Wa. This field is well known for the fly in it holds every year. This beautiful ship was first introduced in 1936 and manufactured thru September of 1940. Only 34 of these grand ladies were produced. Today you may be a lucky person to see one as there are only about a dozen left. She was one of the few aircraft at the time with a crusing speed slightly over 200 miles per hour. In 1936 this ship would have cost 23,500 dollars. This was the lear jet of the 30's.

About Gene Ritchhart

Gene Ritchhart

My name is Gene Ritchhart. I was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. My father was a career Navy man, thus my early years growing up were spent primarily in San Diego. After I graduated from El Cajon High School I joined the Army. While in the army I was the driver of an M113a1 Armored Personnel Carrier. While stationed in Mainz, Germany I found that I could make a little money selling my art work. After the army I used the GI Bill to go to college and attained an A.A.degree in Art. I currently live in the state of Washington where I am continuously inspired by this states beauty. Thanks for viewing my work.
