Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I love this print! Her dress is so pretty and victorian and I can daydream that this is me in another lifetime , contemplating life while visiting the sea

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Artist's Description
Authentic Gullah Geechee Art
When I looked at this piece of tin I saw these little girls. After creating this piece, I remembered as a child listening to the sound of the ocean in a conch shell. I then read about the conch shell. Conch shells are known to have an array of spiritual qualities such as regeneration or rebirth. They were one of the items placed on the enslaved african graves. There is a gullah saying that explains how the sea brought the Africans to this world and how it would take them back to Africa in the afterlife. You see they may have been enslaved in this life but held on to the hope of being free in the afterlife. But these little girls are praying and believing they should experience freedom while they are yet still alive. So they're listening for a word from God.
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." -Matthew 6:10

Hi Sonja, I just purchased a print after reading about Pat Conroy and the St. Helena Memorial Gardens. I have a strong connection to his work, like many of his devoted readers. Having lived in Charleston for several years, I attended several of his book signings and readings in the area. I did my best to immerse myself and family in what we could of the Gullah history and culture, as a result, I found you as part of my exploration today. So here I am... As life would have it, we moved back up North a few years ago, but I keep my ties to the lowcountry by reading the local news and such. Once the lowcountry is in you, it is hard to let go. At least that has been my experience. When I read what you wrote, "The little girls in my painting, Speak to Us Now, are praying and believing they should experience true freedom while they are yet still alive. ...So they are listening to a word from God. They are diligently seeking for someone to teach them how to experience heaven on earth. Pat Conroy, I believe as we listen to the whispers and the sound of the ocean in the lowcountry conch shells, your voice is one that will truly be heard." I was moved because I am reading Pat's final novel published posthumously, Lowcountry Heart. Reading his work always speaks to me, and your work is so vivid... Thank you for helping me find you...I love your words, and jewelry. I am interested in the pendant, and where can I find a price? I would love to buy this for my daughter. Sincerely, Dora Finamore
