Spices of India - II by Prajakta P.
Since ancient days, India has been famous for its wide variety and abundant availability of spices. For centuries, traders and merchants from around the world have travelled and exchanged Indian spices. Various Indian cuisines are widely known for generous use of speciality spices. Moreover, use of peculiar spices in a particular style defines which part of India you belong to. Even today, majority of women in Indian households prefer homemade spices. Spices have defined Indian traditions and Indian culture in its own way. An Indian kitchen is incomplete without a spicebox as depicted in this image. This spice box contains Haldi (Turmeric), Sarson (Mustard seeds), Jeera (Cumin), Laal Mirch (Red Chilli Powder), Garam Masala (Blend of common roasted spices) and Goda/Kala Masala (Blend of roasted spices used in Maharashtra - western Indian state).
I love to create in various mediums & forms. I am comfortable with camera, canvas. I also work in a unique medium known as enameling. Its a technique of painting on metals like copper, steel by melting glass colors at high temperature. I have studied Bachelor of fine arts, from Sir J. J. school of arts, India. Awards : Silver Medal - Annual show , Sir J. J. school of arts I have participated in various art shows. Creating something makes me happy. I hope my artwork make you happy too !
