This large Serialist painting is my most recent piece in this Serialism series. This piece is constructed from various images of Spinal Tap and a variety of the people and situations depicted in their Rockumentary. While many may argue that, presently, Rock is Dead, few would argue that the absurdity of our Musicians has diminished since this films release. I believe that a great many people unfortunately steer clear of some art and artistic venues because of an apparent, real or envisioned, air of elitism. Not all art will be universally understood but, I believe that one shouldnt require a Masters Degree to enjoy Art either. My Artistic goal and the most valuable reward is to get the viewer to laugh and ultimately to get people to openly and comfortably digest and discuss Art. Art doesnt always have to change the world. Maybe we just need it to teach us to laugh and hopefully redefine what Fine Art is and where it can lead us and our smiles. Its such a fine line between stupid and clever. - David St. Hubbins
