Cheri - so glad you got a shot of this before it was destroyed. Haunting and beautiful at the same time (like alot of Louisiana's ruins). v/f/w

Cheri, Glad you were able to preserve this beautiful remnants of this Beauty, now gone, and that is a good thing to do, capture something before its demise! Nice to share with others, as I love the ruins, but the cascading of the lovely florals adds a very special touch. fave and vote

CONGRATULATIONS!! Featured on Female Artists - Creative Women!!! Great artwork, love how you have done this!!!

Yes, I hated to see it go as well, Marian. I agree it was a magnificent place - so sorry to see the modern subdivision in its place. Thanks for the F/V!

Cheri what a wonderful photograph. I grew up close to Elmwood Plantation. It was so beautiful, it saddened me when the grand home burned. voted and favorite

Mark, thanks for your thoughtful comment. I hadn't quite thought of it like that, but you are correct. It was springtime and the wisteria had taken over the ruins - very lush, vibrant and, yes, very alive.

Such a moving image. Alive yet so decayed. Great job.

Renee, thanks for such a generous comment and support. Yes, I do remember the Elmwood Plantation Restaurant. It was a special occasion place for us to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries. A sublime dining experience under those magnificent live oaks! I'm glad that you approve!

Cheri, you photograph my home town of New Orleans in the way I wish I could! v/f Thank you for this gift of seeing N.O. through your lens. There used to be a fancy restaurant at Elmwood -- you probably know the history. Anyway, your composition is excellent in this and your other work, and I'll be visiting your site often. And thank you for your gracious comment about my watercolor screech owl.

Wow...this is so good! Ruins and blooms....fabulous!

Cheri Randolph replied:

Barbara, it was indeed a winning combination to have discovered. Thanks!

Vivian, thanks for your generous comment & vote!

It's absolutely lovely! The picture arrived well-packaged and in a timely manner. I can't wait to give it to my friend.

I like the print on solid metal but it's much, much darker than expected, hiding the most interesting details of the work. My girlfriend still loves it but I'm very disappointed.

I bought this for my bathroom remodel in Paradise CA. The colors were vibrant and beautiful and the quality excellent. Unfortunately I never had time to take a picture of it in its new setting because my house burned down in the Camp Fire. Maybe we'll just have to move to Lake Chapala to enjoy the view.

It’s way too dark and that’s not problem of screens or what ever else. That’s unprofessional printing.

It burned for the third time in 1978 and the abandoned ruins remained standing for about 20 years. It was finally demolished to make way for a housing development soon after this photograph was taken.
