Yesterday evening I wandered down to Butler Park to stretch my legs and enjoy probably one of the last mild days of Spring before Summer’s usual early arrival here in Austin.
The breeze was light but consistent, the sun was out waning gold slanting light on the downtown’s mushroom of buildings, and reflections on the small pond by the hill twinkled a welcoming blue.
The birds obviously were also loving it, chirping like school kids let out onto the playground. Tourists joined residents listening to music from nearby Auditorium Shores.
My intent had been to do a continuous walk, chalking up pleasantly earning fitness tracker points, but the sky and birds and reflections on the buildings coolly gave me pause to see what I had at first only glimpsed (smiles).
I chose both a vertical and square version from the evening’s photo shoot, not variations of the same image, but two separate shots where the birds by the lake in the foreground are in differing movements. I thought they were both pretty nice 😊
