Description
The Old Point Loma Lighthouse, stands at the entrance to the San Diego Bay. Located within the Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma, it had the distinction of being the highest in the United States with its tip at 422 feet above sea level. That unfortunately contributed to it being put out of service as the light was often obscured by fog and clouds. The structure now serves as a museum and tourist attraction.
