Description
A view of a soft red tea rose blossom with water droplets. Roses are woody perennial plants native to China, with some species native to Europe, North America and Africa. They are grown as an ornamental flower today, with some species grown for the perfume and fragrance industry. There are over 100 species of roses and thousands of rose cultivars today, all hybridized from the original wild roses. Roses can be shrub-like, climbing, or miniature, with flowers ranging from the classic 'tea' rose to ones resembling peonies. The seeds of wild roses and some cultivated rose species, called rose hips, are rich in vitamin C.
