Description
This lighthouse is on the small island of Sprogoe, which sits halfway between the main islands of Zealand and Fyn in Denmark. With two massive bridges running east and west of the island it has since 1998 served as a critical link in the Danish transport system. Approximately 28,000 vehicles a day pass within a half a kilometre of the lighthouse. So the hum of traffic is constantly heard from anywhere on the island. For all that, thousands of sea birds find sanctuary on the island's swamps and are very obliging to photographers like myself, throwing themselves against the canvas of storm clouds.

Wow, gorgeous Robert. How on earth did you get to stop there?????? v
Robert Lacy replied:
Thank you Inge. Like most people living on Fyn, I have passed this lighthouse by on the motorway countless times, only wishing I could stop to take some photos. Luckily for me, I got invited to join a tour of the island yesterday. As far as I know there is is a tour each Sunday afternoon during summer.

Love the B&W my friend - this capture is so alive with wildlife, textures and the lighthouse itself,.. and the clouds add a touch drama. Very well done Robert - excellent composition!! All the best. ......Joe

Thanks so much, Joe. It is a Lucky day when all the elements fall into place, as they did for me yesterday when I visited this Island.
