This image is from my book "All My Relations, A Prayer". There are three natural formations and three man made formations, one for each of the major continents. I have had a long standing fascination with all of these sacred sites but have only been to one, Ship Rock, in Monument Valley on the Navajo Reservation. I had an opportunity to go on a pilgrimage around Mt. Kailash in Tibet in 1995. I was really torn between fulfilling two very different dreams. One of course, the pilgrimage and the other was illustrating and publishing my book. I chose to climb the publishing mountain instead, which became a five year journey with many twists and turns.

I'm going counter clockwise around the picture to Ayers Rock, Easter Island, the Great Pyramid and Stonehenge. Will this be the order of my next adventure? Time will tell.

L. T. Sparrow is an innovative artist and poet. She spent much of her childhood with her missionary parents in the Bolivian jungles. After returning to Los Angeles in the 1960s she pursued a bachelor of arts degree in religious studies and a master of arts degree from the University of San Francisco. She has traveled extensively in Asia, the Americas and now Eastern Europe and has raised two children. These experiences have afforded her a unique world view, which she expresses through her writings, art and life philosophy. Sparrow's mission if that is what one calls it, is to expand awareness of our inter-connectedness between peoples, species, the earth, from culture to continent.
