Riad El Solh - 1893 (16 July 1951), the first Lebanese Prime Minister after independence, born in Sidon in 1893, Graduated from the Faculty of Law.
He was sentenced to exile with his father because of their opposition to the Ottoman Union and Progress Party, and they spent 1916 and 1918 in Anatolia. After the end of the First World War, he settled in Damascus and entered the Arab Society of the Secret Girl. After the French occupation of Syria in 1920, he went to Egypt. Participated in the Syrian Conference in Geneva. In 1935, he returned to Lebanon and entered the parliament. In 1943, he became prime minister. He proposed amending articles of the constitution, which he had undertaken with the participation of President Bishara al-Khouri. With the most ministers and some of the deputies, which led to the arrest of the Lebanese revolution on this decision, which led to their release and the Declaration of Independence of Lebanon on 22 November 1943.
