The Stellar Jay is native to Western USA. Frequents dense coniferous forests. I spotted this one while taking a break hiking a trail in Bryce Canyon Utah in Western USA. This one had a morsel of food in its beak. They are aggressive and this one might have managed to get a bit of our trail mix. They are common to campgrounds, parklands, and backyards, where they are quick to spy bird feeders as well as unattended picnic items.
