Tang is a sugared, fruit-flavored, uncarbonated soft drink from America. The original orange flavored Tang was formulated by General Foods Corporation in 1957 and first marketed (in powdered form) in 1959. It was initially intended as a breakfast drink, but sales were poor until NASA began using it on Gemini flights in 1965. For a decade it was associated with the U.S. manned spaceflight program by many consumers.
My wife worked for General Foods for 15 years, until the union saw that it was better to do their part in shutting down the local plant in favor of what? I have no love for a union whose only purpose is to kill people's jobs. So, the General Foods jobs in our town went to Dover Delaware whose plant didn't have a destructive union. My wife has never forgiven that union, or any union for the damage they do.
Nevertheless, I was able to capture for all time one of the products that General Foods, along with NASA, created to make so happy a drink for the whole world.
So, there's my politics along with a painting that has no political theme at all.
