In Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota, just outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Stony River flows northward into Birch Lake. Near the intersection of Kelly Trail and Old Tomahawk Road, a small bridge provides the only crossing of Stony River. From this vantage point, a moonless midnight sky reveals the faint green glow of aurora borealis on the northern horizon, beautifully offsetting a field of stars in the clear autumn sky. Below, the small rapids of Stony River cascade around its namesake stones and reflect the tones of the sky above.
Hand-signed prints on a variety of media are available. Contact the artist directly via email for more details.
