Description
The fishing pier in Venice, Florida is a great place to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The pier extends 700 feet out into the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and is very tall. It is located in Brohard Park at the southern end of the island of Venice. There is a casual restaurant called Sharky's on the end of the pier, and elegant Fins is next door. Caspersen Beach is just down the road where fossilized sharks teeth can be found. This is one of the most popular landmarks in Venice. I took this photo as a storm came rolling in at sunset. On the right of the pier the sun is setting and on the left of the pier the storm clouds curve into the sky. This was during the summer rainy season in Florida.
