While camped in Montrose, we took an afternoon and drove our secret scenic highway. As we completed the circle late afternoon, storms formed and began their work of quenching thirsty ground. We looked behind us and saw this marvelous combination of light, shadow and mountains. It was too far away to drive back for photography, so I grabbed my telephoto and snapped a series for this pano. Glad I did. Five minutes later the magic was gone.
