This beautiful scene was captured as a small plein air field oil study on the beach of Picnic Island, Tampa, for later development as a larger studio oil painting.
Painted during Summer 2008, I've used a part of this favorite as my studio banner on one of the websites. It's a very realistic depiction of local storms we have in the world's lightning capital.
Original works are painted on wrapped stretched canvas with the sides unpainted, glacier gray, or espresso.
