Love it.
A Tufted Titmouse, Baeolophus bicolor, is a common and familiar backyard bird; however, what is not common is the strange beak on this Tufted Titmouse. Titmouse are known to crack the shells of seeds and store for later. One wonders how this strange beak helps or hinders this Tufted Titmouse in his daily excursion for food.

Unique shot of this beautiful bird Christy, it seems to manage somehow with it's crooked beak...fav/like

He's a cutie, isnt he Reynold! The Tufted Titmouse do not have this type of nose, so I am guessing he was born with it, hurt it some how, or maybe a Tufted Titmouse mated with a Red Crossbill (haha-just kidding:)
Christy Cox
Thank you so very much Jim! I really appreciate it!:)

Yes- that curved beak is cute and something I have never seen anywhere. Yes I wonder about how that beak is used too, being a former science teacher. Could be a mutation too--probably not. Well done Christy.

Thank you so very much Michael! Appreciate it! I, too, am surprised s/he is able to function, yet I saw her two days ago in a nearby tree and my husband saw her at the feeder this morning! Nature is amazing!

Awesome image Christy! I watch them break the seeds apart in my backyard and they really peck hard at some of them. I can't imagine that this bird can hit the seeds that hard but it must have it figured out since it looks pretty healthy! l/f
