Walking down the pavement in the city of Ipoh, Malaysia, you find that most of the walking area is covered for shade, with lots of these archways between each shop. The other thing you notice is that many of the shops and restaurants spill out into the pavement/sidewalk, and you have no option but to walk around. The best part, however, is all the wonderful framing opportunities that those arches give. This one caught my eye because of the richness of the gold/orange colours against the faded white paint in the foreground, and for the feeling of waiting, lent by the empty chairs and tables.

Landscape, street and travel photography. I've been lucky enough to live, work and travel in various different countries, collecting photographs and memories all along the way. Most of my recent shots are from Malaysia, or some other parts of South-East-Asia, and there are also plenty from Spain, the UK, and South America, along with other locations. I'm attracted to dramatic skies, bold colours, patterns, unusual juxtapositions, symmetry, shopfronts and marketstalls, and anything that makes a location unique and memorable.
