I fell in love with this photo the day that Jan posted it. The cards are beautiful, frame able for a small space. I like that they have plenty of room for writing or doodling inside.

Jack Atkins paints the southwest’s intense desert light, its spectacular vistas, and the people and things that create its sense of place. He has been fascinated with its culture and traditions since he was a teenager in Taos, New Mexico, a place that influenced him with how strongly it emphasizes and values art and artists. Now the paintings of this fourth-generation New Mexican use vivid colors and dramatic compositions to tell the story of this area’s underlying sense of drama and history. Jack’s paintings are in a contemporary realist style, usually focusing on southwestern themes, especially those related to regional culture and traditions. What a skill! I wish I could draw chrome like this!
Jack Atkins replied:
Thanks for the kind words. It's all in grays, some cooler and some warmer. And it reflects whatever is in line with it. On exhaust pipes, lights or wheels, the part facing down relects the ground, pavement or floor and the part facing up reflects the sky or ceiling. So generally the downward facing part is a warmer color of earth or pavement while the upward facing part is cooler such as the blue and gray of sky and clouds. And of course the reflections are distorted in the chrome. The brightest small highlights will make the chrome really pop. You have a good look going in your motorcycle paintings, just give them a little sparkle and you've got it. Think about joining my "Vintage Iron" group here on FAA.
